There is an abundance of housing in Quincy and the surrounding areas with new construction being completed every day. These include single family dwellings as well as condominiums. There is also a supply of used homes as well as furnished and unfurnished apartments on the market. For those who need special services there are assisted living apartments, apartments specifically for seniors and several nursing homes.

When visiting Quincy for a holiday or perhaps planning to live here, there are temporary facilities in which you can stay. Because Quincy is a thriving small city, there are many hotels and motels within a short driving distance to any place in the area. Also within the last ten years bed and breakfasts have sprung up within the city as well as the outskirts.

- Emergency Shelter -

In an emergency situation there are three organizations that will help with housing.
The American Red Cross in Adams County will provide free food, clothing and shelter as well as emergency funds for people who are affected when disaster strikes. The Salvation Army provides many free services to anyone in need. One of those services, emergency shelter, is available to anyone who is homeless until employment can be found or other arrangements can be made. This service is available for up to eight weeks and will provide for families, single men and single women. The shelter is located at 323 N. If you and/or your children are being subjected to any type of domestic violence or sexual abuse in your home, Quanada located at 2707 Maine, Quincy, IL 62301, provides a refuge for women and their children suffering from these circumstances. The Domestic Violence Program, Children's Program, and Sexual Assault Program are also available to any victims of these problems.
