Housing
- Homes, Apartments, Condominiums -
There is an abundance of housing
in Quincy and the surrounding areas with new construction being
completed every day. These include single family dwellings as well
as condominiums. There is also a supply of furnished and unfurnished
apartments
on the market. For those who need special services there are assisted
living apartments, apartments specifically for seniors, and many
nursing homes.
- Subsidized Housing -
If there is a financial need, the following are assistance
programs and regulatory offices: Housing
and Urban Development (HUD) Assistance, Adams
County Housing Authority, Housing
Discrimination Complaints, and information about assistance
with temporary
housing.
- Hotels, Motels, Bed & Breakfast -
When visiting Quincy for a holiday or perhaps planning
to live here, there are temporary facilities in which you can stay.
Because Quincy is a thriving small city, there are many hotels
and motels within a short driving distance to any place in the
area. Also within the last ten years, bed
and breakfasts have sprung up within the city as well as the
outskirts.
- Emergency Shelter -
In an emergency situation there are three organizations
that will help with housing.
The American Red Cross-Adams County
Chapter provides free food, clothing and shelter as well as emergency funds
for people who are affected when disaster strikes.
The Salvation Army provides
many free services to anyone in need. One of those services, emergency shelter,
is available to anyone who is homeless until employment can be found or other
arrangements can be made. This service is available for up to eight weeks and
will provide for families and single individuals.
If you and/or your children are being subjected to
any type of domestic violence or sexual abuse in your home, Quanada located
at 2707 Maine, provides a refuge and programs for women and their
children.
