Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science nursing program, a four-year college degree program in partnership with Quincy University in Quincy and Truman State College in Canton, MO.

Gem City College offers business and computer courses as well as a programs in cosmetology and horology. Call 222-0391 or visit them at 700 State Street in Quincy.

Vatterott College in Quincy is a technical school which offers courses in computer drafting, networking, and information technology; business services, and HVAC. Contact them at (217) 224-0600.

Quincy University POLIS
Quincy University offers a “Learning in Retirement” program called POLIS, the Pursuit of Learning in Society . This program, provided at a nominal cost, includes college level courses, staff and guest lectures, seminars, discussion groups, and workshops. John Wood Community College
Lifelong Learning Classes
John Wood Community College and the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program jointly offer a senior program called Lifelong Learning for persons aged 50 and up. The classes and seminars, which are recommended by volunteers, cover topics of special interest to seniors including beginning computers. The College is located at 1301 S. 48th St., Quincy, IL 62305. Senior Sampler
Every year on the second Thursday in August, John Wood offers the Senior Sampler at the campus at 1301 S. 48th Street. This is a one-day seminar which consists of four sessions throughout the day. For each session there is a choice of several different classes. There is a registration fee which includes lunch. Contact John Wood at 641-4905/4902.

Trips and Tours

Seminars
“Shattering the Myths on Aging” seminar is held in the fall at John Wood Community College. This seminar is primarily for people who work with seniors, however, all are invited to attend. For additional information contact Barb Taylor at 641-4904.

Quincy Park District also provides some classes in which seniors might be interested.

Quincy School District provides an outstanding public education for our children and special courses in the evening of Adult Education. There are also private and parochial schools which provide excellent educational training for the students.
