Mission or Objective:
The township administers the General and Emergency Assistance Programs to eligible residents and their families who need assistance with rent, utilities, medical, food and household incidentals. Other basic maintenance needs are provided on a case-by-case basis.

Overview:
Provides temporary assistance to residents of Quincy Township, until the person can find a more permanent program. While on the program, they receive help paying for food, rent, utilities, medication, household, personal incidentals and medical assistance.

The township receives referrals from the Illinois Department of Public Aid, Salvation Army, local churches, the Department of Children & Family Services, the United Way and Two Rivers Regional Council.

Eligibility: Eligibility is based on available income, assets and verification of need. Individuals must exhaust all other resources. Able-bodied people are required to do work fare for the assistance they receive. Those applying must complete an application and a casework interview before eligibility can be determined; Fees: None; Limitations: Clients must live within the designated township of Quincy.
