Mississippi River State Fish & Wildlife Area

The Mississippi River State Fish & Wildlife Area covers more than 24,300 acres along 75 miles of the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers. There are 15 wildlife areas and 11 public access areas with the Mississippi River State Fish & Wildlife Area. Wetland management and migratory waterfowl are primary functions for this wildlife area.

Recreational activities include boating, fishing, hunting, and picnicking. Bird watchers have 230 different species to discover. Winter months provide opportunities to observe large numbers of bald eagles along the waterways.
