Middle Fork State Fish & Wildlife Area

Middle Fork State Fish and Wildlife Area was created in 1986 and covers more than 2,700 acres in Vermilion County. Middle Fork River allows anglers the opportunity to catch bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie, sunfish, and walleye.

Equestrian trails travel 35 miles in and around Middle Fork and hiking trails total 9 miles. Other recreation choices include camping, canoeing, hunting, and picnicking. Equestrian campgrounds are available for horses and their riders.

From Champaign, take Interstate 74 east 23 miles and go north on exit 206 for 5 miles. Follow the signs to Middle Fork State Fish & Wildlife Area.

From Danville, take Interstate 74 west 10 miles and go north on exit 206 for 5 miles. Follow the signs to Middle Fork State Fish & Wildlife Area.
