Kincaid Lake State Fish & Wildlife Area

For some of the best fishing in Illinois, a trip to Kincaid Lake State Fish & Wildlife Area is in order. Located on the northwest edge of the Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois’ Jackson County, this 2,750-acre lake was constructed in 1968 and offers superior fishing.

Kincaid Lake is famous for its healthy musky population. Bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie, and walleye are also popular among the lake’s anglers. Other activities at Kincaid Lake State Fish & Wildlife Area include boating, camping, hunting, and picnicking.
