Kidd Lake State Natural Area, located in rural Randolph County, is a small remnant that remains of the wetlands that used to cover the Mississippi River flood plain. Besides preserving the wetlands, Kidd Lake State Natural Area serves as a rest stop for migrating waterfowl during fall and winter months.
Visitors will find a variety of attractions year round at Kidd Lake. Muskrat mounds emerge in the winter, frogs can be heard in the springtime, and migratory birds are fixtures in the fall. These are just a few of the seasonal attractions that bring wildlife observers to Kidd Lake State Natural Area.
