In 1960, Hidden Springs State Forest was created and covers 1,200 acres south of Lake Shelbyville in Shelby County. There are five fishing ponds at Hidden Springs with healthy populations of bass, bluegill, catfish, and redear.
Guests can stop by the forest office to get a copy of the Hidden Springs Bird Checklist that details all the birds you might see in the forest. Also available is a trail guide for guests who enjoy hiking. Other activities at Hidden Springs include camping, hiking, hunting, and picnicking.
