Fults Hill Prairie State Natural Area

Fults Hill Prairie State Natural Area, located in rural Randolph County, was established to protect the high quality loess hill prairie found in the natural area. Fults Hill Prairie was recognized as a National Natural Landmark by the Department of Interior in 1986.

The preserve covers 532 acres and contains woodland, prairie, and glade ecosystems. Each season at Fults Hill Prairie provides a variety of different natural attractions for its guests. Visitors to the preserve are limited to hiking and observing wildlife.

Directions:
From Marion, take Highway 13 west for 20 miles to Murphysboro. Continue west on Highway 149 for 8 miles then go northwest on Highway 3 for 23 miles and follow the signs for Fults Hill Prairie State Natural Area.
