Eagle Creek State Recreation Area covers 2,200 acres on the western shores of Lake Shelbyville, a 11,000-acre reservoir in Shelby County. There are three hiking trails and a 12-mile backpacking trail for park guests who want to take the scenic route. Boating, camping, fishing, hunting, and picnicking are among the other recreational choices at Eagle Creek.

Directions:
From Effingham, take Highway 33 west for 14 miles to Highway 128. Take Highway
128 north for 25 miles and follow the signs to Eagle Creek State Recreation
Area.
From Decatur, take Highway 121 south for 7 miles to Highway 128. Go south
for 20 miles on Highway 128 and follow the signs to Eagle Creek State Recreation
Area.
