Donnelley/DePue State Fish and Wildlife Area covers more than 3,000 acres along the Illinois River. The wildlife area’s main focus is the migratory waterfowl that use the area as a sanctuary and a source of food. The wildlife area offers two youth hunts each year in addition to the hunting permitted during the regular season.
The Illinois River yields bass, catfish, crappie, drum, sauger, and walleye. Other recreational activities include boating, hiking, and wildlife observation.
