Apple River Canyon State Park

Apple River Canyon State Park, a 297-acre tract of wilderness, was purchased by the State of Illinois in 1932. The park, situated near the Wisconsin border in Jo Daviess County, is famous for its beautiful scenery. The canyon is filled with ravines, springs, streams, bluffs, and cliffs.

The Apple River flows through the park and provides anglers with their choice of bass, crappie, pike, sunfish, and trout. Park guests also enjoy camping, hiking, picnicking, and wildlife observation.
