Historical Information
Quincy and Adams County have a great group of people in the Historical Society. They strive to provide information on the history of Quincy and Adams County and are dedicated to preserving the John Wood Mansion and continue to aid in the preservation of other historical architecture within the county. The Historical Society members are available to present educational programs and they maintain the gift shop. They can be reached at 425 S. 12th St., Quincy, IL 62301, (217) 222-1835.

Tours of the John Wood Mansion
The John Wood Mansion is located at 425 S 12th St. in Quincy. Guided tours are given on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. during April, May, September and October. During June, July and August, tours are given daily from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. There is a nominal charge for the tours.

Volunteering with the Historical Society
The Historical Society can always use more volunteers to serve as tour guides in the mansion or work in the gift shop. Just call the Historical Society at 217-222-1835 for information. Membership is open to all.
