How do I become a mentor for children in need? The Child Family Mentor Program matches adult volunteers with Quincy students that are in need
of extra help or attention. You will go through a criminal background check, a DCFS
background check, and attend an orientation training session in order to qualify for the program.
After qualifying, program participants are matched up with a student that they meet with each
week during school hours. The student's teacher usually provides activities for the mentoring
session. Call 217-223-8700 ext. 256 to learn more about the Child Family Mentor Program.
