South Park is a massive 135 acre park located at 12th & Harrison Streets. It is a great summer and winter park. It has ample sledding over the many rolling hills. In the summer you can pitch horseshoes, play tennis, soccer, baseball, or climb around on the playground equipment. There are shelter houses equipped with electricity, picnic tables, drinking fountains, grills, and restrooms. You can have a leisurely picnic, go fishing or feed the ducks. In the summer you may catch the Quincy Park Band playing your favorite tune. June is the month for the buzzing of go-karts. The winding path through the park is transformed into a raceway in which karters from all over the United States participate. |
