Wildlife Prairie State Park is a 2,000-acre zoological park located 10 miles west of Peoria. The park provides a unique opportunity for visitors to experience plants and wildlife that are native to Illinois. Attractions include lakes, prairie land, a butterfly garden, and a pioneer homestead that portrays life in the early 1800's. The park’s wildlife includes black bear, bison, cougars, and wolves. The Forest Park Nature Center is 540 acres of woodlands, prairies, and forests. This nature preserve offers 7 miles of scenic hiking trails, a natural history museum and bird watching opportunities.
