Keokuk’s Rand Park has an incredible panoramic view of the Mississippi River Valley. The park was dedicated in 1883 and named for Mayor George Rand. That same year, Chief Keokuk’s remains were brought back to Keokuk and buried in Rand Park. There is a monument marking his grave site with a 10-foot high statue of Keokuk. Each summer Rand Park hosts a Civil War re-enactment. For details about Rand Park call (319) 524-2050.
