Recreation Located 10 miles south of Golden, Siloam Springs State Park offers a variety of activities for each visitor. The 3,323-acre park became a state recreation area in 1940. In 1955 a dam was constructed and yielded a 58-acre lake. The following year Siloam Springs became a state park. For anglers, the lake holds bass, sunfish, crappie, catfish, and rainbow trout. There are 12 miles of hiking trails as well as 23 miles of equestrian trails complete with equestrian campgrounds. Other activities include boating, camping, bird watching, picnicking, and hunting.
