Galesburg hosts the National Stearman Fly-In each year after
Labor Day. During World War II, the United States military used these
biplanes to train more pilots than any other aircraft. The event attracts
over 100 Stearmans and provides commercial exhibits, air shows, Stearman
contests, and aerobatic competitions. For more information check out

Seminary Street is a two-block area that has been historically
restored to become a successful commercial district. It includes restaurants,
a winery, a bakery, and over 20 specialty shops. It also includes the Galesburg

Each fall Knox County hosts a celebration of their rural heritage called
the Knox County Scenic Drive. It is a self-guided car tour that starts
out in Galesburg and navigates throughout Knox County. You can experience
the fall foliage, the historic sites, and numerous other festivities. For

The Galesburg Civic Art Center
has a collection of over 125 pieces in its permanent collection. In addition,
the art center hosts 10 to 12 exhibits annually. These exhibits enable artists
to receive recognition for their work and allow visitors to enjoy the exhibits.
The art center sponsors Art-In-The-Park each July in Standish Park. It features
over 50 artists, entertainment, and numerous activities for kids of all

Located at 57 South Kellogg Street, the Orpheum Theatre has hosted
such stars as Jack Benny, George Burns and the Great Houdini. It opened
in 1916 as a vaudeville house and continues to offer a variety of entertainment
today under the management of the Prairie Players Civic Theatre. For information
