Guided Tours
There are several options available for those who would like a guided
tour of Galena. Trolley car tours, walking tours and air tours are among

Theaters
Galena has a handful of theaters that provide an abundance of live entertainment.
For example, the Galena Art Theater provides live family entertainment while
the Grant's Place Theater features a show about Mark Twain's adventures.

Recreation
Located eight miles southeast of Galena, Chestnut
Mountain Ski Resort
is a recreation dream come true. It overlooks the Mississippi River
with breathtaking scenery and a multitude of activities. Available are downhill
skiing and snow boarding for winter sports and miniature golf, alpine sliding,
volleyball and pool activities for summer guests. The resort also provides

Named in honor of Galena's most famous resident, Ulysses S. Grant, Grant City Park
has a panoramic view of Galena. It is located on Main Street just north
of Highway 20 on the East bank of the Galena River. There is a statue of
Grant, as well as a Blakely rifle, a canon used in the Civil War. The park
has a pavilion, gazebo, fountain, picnic tables, and a walking bridge that
leads to Galena's historic Main Street. It is an ideal spot for a leisurely
picnic after a morning of shopping or sightseeing.
