Blackburn College was named after Reverend Blackburn, a Presbyterian minister, whose original intent was
to open a seminary in Carlinville. Nineteen years after his death, Blackburn Theological Seminary was opened on
the edge of town. Since then it has become Blackburn College, an independent four-year liberal arts college with
over 700 students. For more information about Blackburn College, visit their website at www.blackburn.edu. |
