June 6: Alzheimer's Association presents Free Monthly Lunch & Lecture Series for Caregivers. Program will be on Eat to Stay Well: A Dietitian's Overview at the Quincy Senior Center, 639 York. Lunch will be served at 11:45a.m. and the one-hour program will begin at noon. Reservations are required by Tuesday prior to the program. There will also be free respite care available through the Adult Day Care Center at the Senior Center. June 7: The annual St. Francis Parish Picnic will be held this year from 5 pm to Midnight at 17th & College in Quincy, IL. New this year is Bingo, which will be held in a tent. The event will include various kinds of food, drinks, shaved ice, raffle, silent auctions, games, kiddie corner, and live music. This event is fun family entertainment and is for people of all ages.

July 6 - Aug 3: Historic Nauvoo Pagent. The Nauvoo Pageant celebrates the legacy of early Latter-day Saints whose faith brought them to a swampy bend of the Mississippi River. Narrated by Parley P. Pratt, the pageant emphasizes the prophetic mission of Joseph Smith and honors the sacrifice, faith, and courage of the Saints who gave their all to build a city and a temple. The pageant is filled with authentic hymns and folksongs, lively dances, and tender moments that share the joy these early Saints found. Through words taken from journals, sermons, and historic records of the period, the pageant invites all to feel the powerful testimonies of these faithful Saints. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday nights at 8:45 p.m. with pre-show activities beginning at 7:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Free parking is adjacent to the pageant grounds.
