Overview:
Primarily a telephone crisis intervention service providing emergency counseling and psychiatric assistance,
information and referral.
Twenty-four hour telephone crisis service to help
callers deal with personal crises. Phone calls are
answered by trained mental health professionals. Master-level
therapists and/or mental health nurses may be accessed
to assist local law enforcement and emergency personnel
in dealing with specific crises.
Volunteers: Staffed by mental health professionals
from Transitions of Western Illinois; Eligibility:
Anyone is eligible; Fees: There is no
charge directly to the consumer; Limitations:
This is usually a telephone contact only unless
further help is needed. Face to face contacts are
typically made via walk-in services or establishing
an appointment for further assessment at Transitions.
