Mission Or Objective:
The goal of the program is to give families the tools to assist in their child's language, social, intellectual
and physical development.
Overview:
This is a home/school partnership program of the Quincy Public Schools, designed
to help participants develop
confidence through effective parenting skills. The objective is to enhance parenting
skills and to promote parental
involvement in children's homes and schools. Various classes and programs are
offered to all parents, including
expectant and parents of children birth to five years.
Offers:
Parent Workshops; Family Resource Library/Toy Lending Library; Parenting classes; suppers provided; Parent-infant
activities; Parent child interactions; child care and transportation available for any participants.
Activities available to parents of school children include:

Family Resource Library
Videos, magazines, cassette tapes and books about child growth and development and parenting issues.
Parenting Classes
Series of six-ten week parenting classes held in day time or evening hours. Free child care and transportation
available.
Parent/Child Interactions
Fun learning activities at school and community agencies to assist you in learning about relating to your child
and learning about your school's goals and expectations for your child. These activities are held for parents and
children to participate as partners.
Advisory Boards
Opportunity for parents to be involved in decision-making during their child's education.
Newsletters
Early Childhood & Family
Center sends home regular newsletters to inform families about special events
and what's going on.

Volunteers: Needed; Eligibility: Programs and activities are offered
to any families, particularly expectant parents, and parents
of children
birth - 5 years. Fees: Usually
no charges-might be a minimum charge for materials or workbooks;
