Overview:
JWCC is the sponsoring agency for the Retired
and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). The purpose of
RSVP is to create meaningful opportunities for persons
55 years or older to participate more fully in the
life of their communities through volunteer service.
The program currently has more than 500 active volunteers.
Volunteers Needed: To serve on advisory committees,
assist with Lifelong Learning Conference, assist with
planning conferences and events. Prerequisites include
an interest in learning for life, enthusiasm, ability
to share ideas, and willingness to tell friends about
the program; Eligibility: Persons in the JWCC
area who are 50 years of age and older; Limitations:
John Wood Community College District
Lifelong Learning Conference: The Lifelong
Learning Conference takes place in August and is
a day of learning for adults of all ages held on the
John
Wood Community College campus.
