Mission or Objective:
The primary purpose of the GRWS is to stimulate interest in watercolor painting by perpetuating the practice of,
and appreciation for the fine art of watercolor painting; to aid the watercolor artists and to increase their skills
through a sharing of ideas and methods by means of workshops, critiques, demonstrations, and exhibitions; and to
encourage all forms of water-based media.
Overview:
Anyone interested in putting transparent watermedia
onto any type of paper (monotype, brush paper, etc.).
Each meeting members critique each others work, learn
new techniques, and find out about the business
of
Art. They have demonstrators come to the Art Center
to show their techniques on how to paint. An annual
show at the Quincy University
Brenner Library in January, the Chiropractic Clinic
in Quincy at 48th and Maine in April and May and
individual members at various locations in Quincy. They
also have a workshop with an outside visiting artist
once a
year usually in the fall.
Eligibility: Membership is open to all persons of the U.S. interested and active in watercolor painting;
Fees: Membership Fees: Individual $20.00; Student $5.00; Patron: Individual $25.00, Corporate $100.00; Limitations:
No oil paintings
